ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT
ABOUT THIS JOB
As an associate consultant, you will provide financial consulting services on behalf of HBMJ’s clientele. As a member of the team, you will assist and support other team members to ensure successful execution of projects; example projects include accounting software upgrades, onboarding new private equity funds, tying out end-of-period trial balances, reconciling daily P&L and providing post-trade support.

Automating Track Records: Calculating project deals’ IRR, MoM and other performance metrics

Pricing: Pricing equity placeholders for liquid positions daily

Tying out Trial Balances and Reconciling P&L: Checking the client’s numbers against the Fund Administrator’s

Booking Daily Activity: Entering credit activity transactions, such as paydowns and drawdowns, and tracking cash movements using journal entries
New employees are placed in a training program where they work on several exciting projects. The three to six-month training program includes:

An introduction to SS&C Advent’s portfolio accounting system, Geneva®
-
Exposure to back office activities: confirming bank agent notices, working with Portfolio Accounting and Operations teams, evaluating weekly risk reports, and more

Excel training: cash, position, and other daily reconciliations
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree from a known educational institution

Preferred Majors: All Business Majors, Economics, English

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Must be driven and have the willingness to learn

Ability to work independently as well as on a team

Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
